Hello Ohio Birders,

Today, on private property near Buena Vista & Middlefork Rds., Hocking Co. (DeLorme p. 69 D-4) in addition to the expected resident species I had: phoebe, tree swallow, hermit thrush, brown thrasher, Louisiana waterthrush, field & fox sparrows. On Kellenberger Rd. just east of the Scioto River (DeLorme p. 78 A-2) in a flooded field: 4 tundra swans, 30-40 mallards, 15 pintails, one blue-winged teal, 23 shovelers, 2 gadwall, 6 Am. wigeon, ~ 100 ring-necked ducks and 2 lesser scaup. Plant and insect phenology seems about 10 days behind average.

Happy birding,

Dave Horn
Columbus
