Apropos of other reports of late Purple Finches, Bob Thobaben and I captured
and banded a Purple Finch yesterday (22 Apr) at his farm 6.5 miles west of
Wilmington. It was a second year bird, probably a female. We also caught
three Red-breasted Nuthatches, two of which had been banded at this location
earlier in the winter.
Cheers,
Bob
