As soon as I drove on the Big Hill Picnick Area at Cowan Lake State Park I heard the song of the Yellow-throated Warbler and I also had some great looks. Even though this is the former "Sycamore" Warbler when it arrives at Cowan it is seen singing in a row of
 evergreens. Later they are in the nearby Sycamores. I have been told that in the South they seem to prefer evergreens for nesting.
