Today I saw a number of Yellow-rumped Warblers and one Black-throated
Green Warbler at Cooper's Woods (DeRivera Woods) on South Bass Island and
a Mockingbird in my yard so I headed out to the South Bass Island
Lighthouse to see what has shown up.
1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
2 Savannah Sparrows
40 Chipping Sparrows
38 Mourning Doves
1 Chimney Swift
3 Cooper's Hawks
1 Sharp-shinned Hawk
2 Red-tailed Hawks
20 Turkey Vultures
I had my first House Wren at home on April 23 and have seen Rough-winged
Swallows all week. Still have a Red-breasted Nuthatch at my feeder today-
April 26.
Have been seeing occasional dragonflies for two weeks now-two in tandem
two days ago. Saw several Green Darners right before dark out on the lake
last night.
