Greetings---Another fine day of atlasing/birding today in eastern Mahoning Co.  I visited Coitsville Twp, Poland Twp, Evans L, Pine L, and Mill Creek WS.  Among the highlights were:  wood ducks, blue-winged teal, lesser scaups, red-breasted mergansers, ruddy ducks, c. loon, bald eagles, Cooper's hawk, red-shouldered hawks, Am. kestrels, Am. coots, greater yellowlegs, lesser yellowlegs, solitary sandpipers, red-headed woodpecker, warbling vireos, purple martins, numerous e. bluebirds, wood thrushes, gray catbirds, n. mockingbirds, Am. pipit, yellow-rumped warbler, c. yellowthroats, savannah sparrows, swamp sparrows, white-throated sparrows, dark-eyed junco, white-crowned sparrow, rose-breasted grosbeaks, and purple finches.
