There was a fine variety of species around the local patches this weekend here in eastern Mahoning Co.  I poked around a bit in Poland and Coitsville Twps., and found the following in modest numbers: ruddy ducks, ring-necked pheasant, killdeer, belted kingfisher, golden-crowned kinglets, ruby-crowned kinglet, e. bluebirds, hermit thrushes, Am. robins, n. mockingbird, Carolina wren, yellow-rumped warblers, e. towhees, chipping sparrow, swamp sparrow, white-throated sparrows, and dark-eyed juncos.  Around noon there was a noticeable movement overhead with turkey vultures, a bald eagle, red-tailed hawks, red-shouldered hawks, ring-billed gulls, and a herring gull soaring by.  Later, Craig
