Three of us birded Buck Creek State Park Sunday morning. We found a
Franklin's Gull and a Bonaparte's Gull on the beach with a few hundred
Ring-billed Gulls and about 5 Herring Gulls. The lake level has been
lowered a little and some mudflats have been exposed at the north end of
the lake but we saw only a Lesser Yellowlegs, a Pectoral Sandpiper and
lots of Killdeer today. It should be better by next week. Other
sightings today include a couple Orange-crowned Warblers and a Bald
Eagle.
