SPECIES IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS ARE REVIEW-LIST SPECIES. Details
of these sightings are desired by The Ohio Bird Records
Committee. Careful observation, not ornithological expertise, is
the only qualification for submitting your data. For details and
pointers see: http://www.ohiobirds.org/records/documentation.php.

GLOSSY IBIS: Two have been at Mill Creek Wildlife Sanctuary,
Mahoning County, from the 2nd and were last reported on the 9th.
To arrange access to the sanctuary, email Bill Jones
([log in to unmask]).

PIPING PLOVER: Sherrie Duris reports that the monthly census of
Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge found one near the mouth of Crane
Creek on the 7th.

Willet: Gene Stauffer saw one in the Teal Pond at Pickerington
Ponds Metropark, Franklin County, on the 9th.

Hudsonian Godwit: Jack Stenger and Sean Williams found one at Big
Island Wildlife Area on the 5th that was still being reported on
the 9th. Band data indicate the bird is a male banded this summer
near Churchill, Manitoba. Sean provided this google map of its
location: http://tinyurl.com/42rgeq.

Laughing Gull: The previously reported bird on the swimming beach
at Pleasant Hill Lake, Richland County, was still present on the
4th.

Franklin's Gull: Doug Overacker found one at Buck Creek State
Park on the 5th.

Little gull: An adult in basic plumage was still being seen
through the 9th at Conneaut.

Le Conte's Sparrow: Reported this week from the Wake Robin Trail
at Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve on the 3rd, from Miami
Whitewater Wetlands "about 100 feet from the bathouse" on the
4th, from private property in Lucas County on the 5th, and from
Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge on the 7th.

Nelson’s Sharp-tailed Sparrow: Reported this week from Miami
Whitewater Wetlands "about 100 feet from the bathouse" on the
4th; from the Wake Robin Trail at Mentor Marsh State Nature
Preserve on the 5th; from near the fence at Dike 14, Cleveland,
on the 5th; from Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge on the 7th; from
the Lorain impoundment and from the old coliseum site in Summit
County (on Rt. 303 just west of the I-270 interchange) both through
the 7th; and from Funk Wildlife Area on the 7th.

Western Meadowlark: The one tallied on the record-setting October
big day in Wood County on the 5th presumably was the long-
resident bird at Range Line and Cygnet roads west of Cygnet.
