Today I checked Evans L., Pine L., and various nooks and crannies in eastern Mahoning Co.  There were some good birds as usual: Am. black ducks, gadwalls, n. shovelers, green-winged teal, hooded mergansers, ruddy ducks, pied-billed grebes, great blue herons, 2 great egrets, killdeers, Wilson's snipe, ring-billed gulls, belted kingfishers, n. flickers, Carolina wrens, e. bluebirds, n. mockingbird, Am. robins, and Am. goldfinches livened up the day.  Again, the approach of a strong cold front should make for some interesting birding in the coming days.  Later, Craig
