All trails at the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge will be closed, December
1st-4th. This closure is due to deer hunting on the refuge and to ensure
visitor safety. The Visitor Center is open on those days, and trails are
open at neighboring Black Swamp Bird Observatory and Magee Marsh.

On a birdier note, tundra swans have arrived in large numbers, many are
feeding along the road to the trail head parking lot, Off refuge they
have been feeding in field south of St. Rt. 2 and west of St. Rt. 590.

Thank you,

Rebecca E. Hinkle
