On Monday afternoon I found four WW Crossbills at CWRU's Squire Valleevue Farm in Eastern Cuyahoga County (Fairmount between Rt. 91 and Chagrin River Road). This is the first time I've seen them here. They were in the pines at a picnic area past the farm pond. There were four of them, and they were accompanied by two Red-breasted Nuthatches.

A Mockingbird that has defended its nearby hedge row since October continued its regal vigilance.

I also saw and heard the first Red-winged Blackbirds of the spring and the first singing Song Sparrow.
