Today I made the loop down to Evans L., Pine L., and Beaver Twp.  Waterbirds were in good variety but not very numerous overall.  Highlights for the day: 9 wood ducks, gadwalls, Am. wigeon, n. shoveler, canvasbacks, 20 redheads, 153 ring-necked ducks, 23 lesser scaup, 14 buffleheads, c. goldeneye, 58 hooded mergansers, common mergansers, red-breasted mergansers, ruddy ducks, pied-billed grebes, 6 horned grebes, 4 bald eagles, and Am. coots.  A real surprise today--a strung-out flock of 15 wild turkeys flying over the water of one of the smaller bays at Evans L. and landing on the other shore.  In the first couple seconds I was in "What the @#$%& is that?" mode. Birding is never boring.  Later, Craig
