Birded the backyard and fields this morning, in southeast Ashtabula
County. Most notable was a Red-shouldered Hawk and a few American
Restarts.

The Carolina Wren that's been singing every day for the past 2 weeks
was quiet all day-- perhaps because a House Wren was present? Last
week the Carolina Wren was quiet/absent for half a day, and there was
a migrant House Wren that morning as well.

Lately we've had some brief visits by Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, all
juveniles (on August 25, 30, and 31). Haven't seen them here since the
adults came through in spring.
