Troy Shively has been carefully watching two, and recently only one,
Eurasian collared-doves in a Logan County front yard for some weeks now,
and this afternoon he and Brad Sparks and I were able to locate
a nest in a tree there, where one bird was apparently incubating eggs or
sheltering nestlings. We'll be documenting this find, which would be the
first verified nesting of this species in the state.
