Yesterday morning I got a chance to bird on Middle Bass Island. In addition
to the usuals
Nashville Warbler
Warbling Vireo
Yellow Warbler
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers
Wood Ducks

On South Bass Island yesterday, Elizabeth Heineman reported her first
rose-breasted grosbeak of the season and Susan Harrington her first oriole.

This morning (Saturday) I went out in my vineyard on South Bass and leaned
down to pull something and a sora rail popped up out of the short grass!
What a surprise!

Lisa Brohl
