Greetings once again,

My wife Micki's day began quite well when she heard a strange bird song during her early morning walk on our property. It turned out to be a Bell's Vireo, the first sighting we have had in the county in 20 years! Our good fortune had just begun as we joined some of our Black Swamp Audubon friends at Paulding's Black Swamp Nature Center in search of warblers. While we found a few less than the 23 species we had on Wednesday, the 19 species included Mourning, Worm-eating and an early Connecticut! All told, Micki had 21 species of warblers for the entire day. It appears that the big push of migrants have also been coming through lowly Paulding County on their way to the Lake!

Oh, did I forget to mention that the five of us had the Black Swamp Nature Center all to ourselves for the entire three hours we were there?

Bird long and prosper,
Doug & Micki Dunakin
Antwerp, Ohio
