An early morning hike on the Kendall Lake Cross-country Trail in the CVNP revealed 48 species. Hooded Warblers and Ovenbirds were common with 11 for the former and 7 for the latter. Acadian Flycatchers were also well-represented with 5.

Other noteworthy sightings was a single Cerulean Warbler and a single Veery Thrush, the latter of which sounded as if he was not just singing his famous harmonic duet with himself, but as part of a trio with a neighboring Wood Thrush. It was quite simply a captivating chorus.

Full species listing follows.
