I stopped by Lorain Harbor briefly this afternoon around 4:00. The mudflats
had a nice variety of shorebirds. There were also a number of waterfowl
including mallard, blue-winged teal, green-winged teal, northern shoveler,
and ruddy duck. There was also a very early HORNED GREBE. There was a nice
variety of shorebirds considering low numbers..The following shorebirds were
present:
Black-bellied plover 2
American golden plover 2
Semipalmated plover 2
Killdeer 4
Lesser yellowlegs 1
Sanderling 1
Semipalmated sandpiper 11
WESTERN SANDPIPER 1
Least sandpiper 9
WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER 1
BAIRD'S SANDPIPER 2
Pectoral sandpiper 1
