Hello birders,

I had an EXCEPTIONAL morning here around the migrant patches of Ohio
Wesleyan University. Lots of birds all over the place, with 14 species of
warbler, including a Golden-winged! That was OWU/town bird #198! 2 more to
go! Highlight list below:

Sora 1, marsh behind Meijer off Rt. 36
Solitary Sandpiper 1, same location as above
Ruby-throated Hummingbird 2
Eastern Wood-Pewee 4
Eastern Phoebe 2
Warbling Vireo 1
Philadelphia Vireo 2
Red-eyed Vireo 1
Northern Rough-winged Swallow 2
Cliff Swallow 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1, very close to Golden-winged Warbler
Marsh Wren 2, marsh behind Meijer off Rt. 36
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 1
Gray-cheeked Thrush 1
Swainson's Thrush 8
Wood Thrush 1

Golden-winged Warbler 1 adult male. Striking plumage, superficially like
a chickadee (black throat, gray above and whitish below), but with a bright
yellow wing patch and crown. OWU/town bird #198!! Just north of Armstrong
and Curve Rd., there is a dirt road on the east side of Curve Rd. The bird
was a couple hundred feet into this dirt road on the right side, where it
starts to get thicketed/wooded.
Tennessee Warbler 6
Nashville Warbler 1
Magnolia Warbler 3
Cape May Warbler 6
Black-throated Green Warbler 2
Blackburnian Warbler 1
Bay-breasted Warbler 4
Blackpoll Warbler 4
Black-and-white Warbler 1
American Redstart 8
Northern Waterthrush 1
Common Yellowthroat 1
Wilson's Warbler 3

Rose-breasted Grosbeak 1
Indigo Bunting 2

Good birding,

Sean
