I stopped by Funk Bottoms viewing platform Thursday evening near sunset and
enjoyed watching about 30 cranes move into the center of the wetland just
before sunset. They were in small groups of 2 - 5 and one group of 18

I was fortunate to go to Michigan a few years ago and see the hundreds of
birds that concentrate this time of year in a wetland near Ann Arbor
(Haenkle??). They feed during the day in nearby fields and back yards!
Some time in November they decide it is time to leave and it's a mass exodus
south.
