Gull numbers onshore this morning seemed to have returned to the dismal levels
reminiscent of this entire winter. At E. 72nd St., a single 2nd-cycle. Glaucous
Gull joined a mere handful of large gulls, and a 1st/2nd-cycle Iceland was
present at Eastlake Power Plant. The morning's most interesting sighting
involved a rather strange fem. Greater Scaup at E. 72nd. I have posted more
pictures and a description over at
http://www.rarebird.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5452&title=aberrant-greater-scaup-e-72nd-st.
Emil Bacik's February list reached 111 this morning, with turkey and Barred Owl
added further to the east.
Jen Brumfield just informed that there are currently Iceland & Thayer's (two of
each), and a Glaucous Gull present at Eastlake!
Good birding -
