I was checking Hoover Reservoir in Columbus this evening for ducks (widely
scattered) but was surprised to find a Caspian Tern at the Walnut Street
boat ramp.

For the locals, the Oxbow causeway was closed perhaps in advance of the
expected rain this weekend as the reservoir level is back to normal.
Pied-bill grebes are starting to return along with Red-breasted mergansers
and Ring-necked ducks.
