This morning I hiked around several of the woodland areas (Indian Ridge, Cedar Ridge) of this MetroPark southwest of Columbus looking for migrants. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to stop by the wetland, and missed out on the Purple gallinule. The woodlands were still brimming with migrants, and it was a great morning to be out. Notables in 2 hours included:

Pileated Woodpeckers - 2 birds at both Indian Ridge & Cedar Ridge

Flycatchers - not too many, with 4 Great Crested along the Terrace Trail as the most noteworthy. Acadian, Pewee, and Phoebe in other locations.

Vireos - 1 White-eyed, 2 Yellow-throated, and lots of Red-eyed (16+)

Red-br.Nuthatch - still one hanging around the Cedar Ridge picnic area. According to naturalist Tim Taylor, they've had 1-2 for several weeks.

Kinglets - 2 Ruby-crowns were still around the Cedar Ridge area, quite late for this location

Thrushes - 2 Veeries, 4 Swainson's, and 7-8 Wood Thrushes made for more this morning than last week

Warblers - good numbers, good diversity, including Blue-winged (2), Yellow (2), Parula (5+), Nashville (20+, the most common warbler), Tennessee (4), Magnolia (5), Chesnut-sided (6), Black-thr.Green (12), Black-thr.Blue, Blackburnian (6), Yellow-throated (3), Yellow-rumped (15), Palm (2), Blackpoll, Black&White (5), Redstart (4), N.Waterthrush (2), La.Waterthrush (3), Ovenbird (3), Common Yellowthroat (5), Hooded

Tanagers - 3-4 Scarlets along the Terrace Trail, but that was less unusual than a singing Summer in the Cedar Ridge picnic area. Naturalist Tim stated that it was part of a pair that had been there for several days, a first record for this part of the park.

Buntings,Grosbeaks - 6-8 Indigo Buntings, 5+ Rose-br.Grosbeaks

Sparrows - nothing unusual, with Chipping, Field, Song, and some remnant White-throated, along with 10 E.Towhees

Icterids - 12+ Baltimore orioles scattered over both sites, plus 1 male Orchard in the Indian Ridge picnic area.

Finches - plenty of Goldfinches, but no siskins. A Purpel Finch was singing in the Indian Ridge picnic area early
