I just got a call from Chris Hitt, a resident of NC. He did see the
Garganey - for about 5 seconds. The bird is hanging out in a non-
public area at Fernald. Someone from the center has to be with
birders in order to get in to see this pond. Chris said that the
folks at the center have been trying to do everything to help
birders. So, check in at the nature center. Unfortunately Chris only
saw it for about five seconds as they flushed it. It flew and then
landed back down where they couldn't see it. So, the bird is still
there, just not easy to see.
It has not been to Lodge Pond (where it was first observed and so
easy to see) in two days.
