Hampton Hills Metro Park (Top-o-the-Wo
Highlights from Friday morning:

Hampton Hills Metro Park (Top-o-the-World area):  Two each blue-winged warblers
and alder flycatchers, and a bluebird singing lustily (I use this word on
purpose) from a high treetop.

CVNP Ira Rd. parking lot to the marsh:  A pair of cedar waxwings building a nest
(well, one was building and the other was supplying materials and probably
advice...) and a warbling vireo chasing a too-inquisitive blue jay, then
returning to his perch and resuming singing.

CVNP Oak Hill trailhead:  One each alder flycatcher, blue-winged warbler,
ovenbird, and common yellowthroat singing.

CVNP Christmas Tree Farm Trail (Horseshoe Pond area):  Five blue-winged
warblers; four hooded warblers; a couple of chatty chickadee flocks which might
have been family groups; and five red-breasted nuthatches, each in his own
spruce grove.
