Thought you readers might find this interesting: I just got back from a
trip to Ontario -- stayed on a remote island near Manitoulin Island.. Anyway,
for a couple days there was a Merlin hanging around our part of the
island. I watched it swoop out of the trees over the water a couple times then
saw it turn on a dime and nail a dragonfly. Pretty cool to watch. No
unusual birds on trip -- all pretty typical for that area: Sandhill Cranes,
Ospreys, Ruby Throats, Golden Crowned Kinglets, warblers (Blackthroated
Blue, Black & White, etc.), Loons, Ravens.
