I went to Evans L. yesterday afternoon 3/17 to look for the Eurasian wigeon found there on 3/16.  I didn't see it, but did get to see a nice mix of waterbirds: 15 gadwall, 5 blue-winged teal, ring-necked ducks, lesser scaup, bufflehead, c. goldeneye, 115 red-breasted mergansers, ruddy ducks, 11 horned grebes, pied-billed grebes, great blue heron, Am. coots, killdeer, ring-billed & herring gulls, and belted kingfisher.  In other E Mahoning Co. news, in the Lowellville area recently were: e. phoebes at 3 different spots, a calling barred owl by the cemetary, and my FOY purple finch at my backyard feeder.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
