I checked a number of spots around Poland Twp. and Lowellville today, with surprisingly good results considering the cold weather.  Highlights were: Cooper's hawks, red-shouldered hawks, 6 wild turkeys, 2 Bonaparte's gulls, great horned owl, belted kingfishers, yellow-bellied sapsucker, hairy woodpecker, n. flickers, pileated woodpeckers, e. phoebe, 6 e. bluebirds, e. towhees, field sparrow, chipping sparrows, dark-eyed juncos, and purple finch.  Lots of birds are exhibiting breeding behavior now around here.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
