I also noticed alot of red admirals today on South Bass Island! One small
cherry tree in my yard held about 50 red admiral butterflies at a time with a
few anglewings (looked like commas) mixed in. They were all over the garden
and even on my laundry hanging up on the line! Heard a Baltimore Oriole-first
of year for me.

An evening trip to the Middle Bass East Point Preserve also turned up lots of
red admirals with a few anglewings again-right up until dusk! Saw a green
darner dragonfly right before dark as well. Saw several hermit thrush there
too.

The red admirals could be see from our boat out over Lake Erie as well.

Saw several mourning cloak at different locations on South Bass this past week
as well on South Bass.
