No big fallout at either of these birding areas in NE Columbus this morning, though plenty of migrants were around. I visited several parks along the ALum Creek Greenway (Innis, Tanager Woods) this morning, and took a visiting relative to see the Hoover Nature Preserve (Oxbow, Galena, Char-Mar Preserve) this afternoon. The reservoir had few waterbirds, and the only sizeable concentrations of gulls were at Maxtown and the Galena Boardwalk. Notables included

cormorants - were the only waterbird in significant #s around north Hoover. They must be nesting somewhere along the shore now.
Osprey - nesting pair settled in at the platform closest to the Galena boardwalk
Gulls - still 5-8 Herring were at both the Galena boardwalk and Maxtown docks.
Hummingbirds - 1-2 at the parks along Alum, but little around Hoover
Flycatchers - good #s of Pewees, Acadians, and Great Cresteds along Alum Creek; fewer around Hoover in the afternoon
Vireos - singing Blue-headed at Innis Park seemed late. Lots of Red-eyed at every stop, so they've appeared in numbers
Thrushes - 2-3 Swainson's at each of the Alum Creek parks, but not much else
Warblers - Chesnut-sided were the only widespread migrant, being at almost every stop at both Alum Creek and Hoover. Hoover had loads of Prothonotaries putting on shows (thanks, Charlie), while Alum Creek had 1-2 Parulas and yellow-throateds trying to set up territories. The only unusual warbler was a Canada singing at Oxbow Island
Tanagers - singing Scarlets were at Innis and Char-Mar
Buntings - big wave of Indigos, with 10-15 at each park along Alum Creek, and 5-6 at most Hoover stops as well
Orioles - good #s, with 2-3 at each Alum Creek park, plus 3-5 at each Hoover stop (Oxbow had 6+).
