Here in southeastern Florida, conditions have been ideal for northward wandering by long-legged waders. More south winds are in the forecast.
Thursday, during happy hour at Conchy Joe's in Jensen Beach, a great egret climbed down off the roof and looked at us, expectantly. We were told by the wait staff, "He likes the yellow cheese."
He does. With the cheese procured from another room, the egret hopped up on the railing ate from my wife's hand!
Peace,
