On our second pass, the red-throated loon was easily found cruising on
glassy waters in Hoover Res from the small new pull-off area, next one
north of the dam pkg lot. 80+ bonies, too, far outnumbering other gull
spp. Nearly all the birders we ran into were friendly. Except for a
merganser, zip for dux in the Franklin Co portion. We don't see this one
here every year.
