We checked Hoover Reservoir at the dam and Greenlawn Cemetary this
afternoon.
At Hoover Reservoir (from the dam N to Big Walnut) we found:
Canada Goose -- 15
American Black Duck -- 25 (on the far shore across from Big Walnut)
Redhead -- 65 (one flock off the dam)
Lesser Scaup --3 (2m, 1f)
Common Merganser (1 m)
Red-breasted Merganser (30)
Hooded Merganser (50)
Pied-billed Grebe
Red-tailed Hawk
Ring-billed Gulll
Herring Gull
Common Redpoll -- 7, the only winter finch, at the edge of snow in Big
Walnut parking, on ground and on weed tops
Greenlawn Cemetary, the feeders and section 100:
Cooper's Hawk -- 1 m
Mourning Dove
Reb-bellied Woodpecker
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker --1 m
Downy Woodpecker -- 10
Hairy Woodpecker -- 1
C. Chickadee
Red-breasted Nuthatch -- 6
White-breasted Nuthatch -- 11
White-throated Sparrow -- 11
"Slate-colored" Junco -- 15
House Finch -- 20
White-winged Crossbill -- 12, section 100
Pine Siskin - 5
American Goldfinch - 15
