Below is the list of birds seen on the Ottawa NWR bus trip to Cedar Point
NWR on Sunday, April 21st. We were out for 3 hours and saw 75 species, by
far the highlight being 23 American Avocets, though you cannot ignore
thousands of ducks on the lake either, it was very impressive. Thanks go
out to Sherrie Duris, Dan Gesualdo, and Deb Tefft for really making this a
noteworthy trip.

There are many of these free trips planned over the next few weeks, some
are specifically Cedar Point NWR trips and others are listed as Blue Goose
Bus Trips, these will go to a destination determined that day. We will go
where the birds are, but all will be to closed areas of the refuge.

The full list of events can be found at
http://www.fws.gov/uploadedFiles/March-May%20Public%20Program%20Schedule.pdf
Bus trip dates with openings available are April 25, April 28, May 3, 4, 5,
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.

All trips are FREE but you must make reservations.

If anyone has any questions, or to make a reservation please call the
Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge visitor center at 419-898-0014.

Thank you,
Rebecca Hinkle
