40 species of birds were tallied on the inaugural spring bird walk at the Acacia Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks, including the following highlights:
Ducks: Wood -2, Mallard - 14, Bufflehead - 4
Pied-billed Grebe- 1
Double-crested Cormorant - 37, flight direction SE to NE
Great Blue Heron - 1
Red-tailed Hawk - 1
Killdeer - 3
Woodpecker: Red-headed - 1, Red-bellied - 4,Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 2, Downy - 3,Northern Flicker - 3
Eastern Phoebe - 6
Swallow: Northern Rough-winged - 1, Tree - 3
Nuthatch: Red-breasted - 1, White-breasted - 4
Golden-crowned Kinglet - 5
Northern Mockingbird - 2
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 5
Sparrow: Chipping - 1,Fox - 1, Song -6
