Geauga Park District's Headwaters Park (Claridon/Huntsburg Twp) featured some nice bird sightings today 4/26: raft of about 100 ruddy ducks on East Branch Reservoir; a red-breasted nuthatch and Louisiana waterthrush were heard, a bald eagle seen as was a field sparrow and two singing pine warblers. A special experience was watching a male yellow-bellied sapsucker excavating a nest cavity in a dead elm between two signs along the park entrance road coming in off Rt. 608.
