I spent some time hiking along the Scioto bikepath in Marble Cliff looking for late residents and early migrants.  Then, I bustled over to Shrum Mound Quarry, joining several other birders hopeful of shorebirds on the clay flats there.  Finally, I hiked along the relatively new Clover-Goff bikeway in Hilliard.  While there were plenty of late summer residents along both bikeways, migrants were scarce.  The notable exception was an early juvenile TENNESSEE WARBLER at Marble Cliff; it was along the trail about 100 yds south of RiversEdge Offices, with a small group of chickadees and gnatcatchers.  Other notables included

Cormorants - many along the river and lakes around Marble Cliff; the Quarry still had lots of nesters and juveniles (35+)
Great Egrets - still around 12 at the Quarry rookery
Osprey - 1 circling around over Watermark lake
Shorebirds - the Shrum Mound Quarry flats had 40+ Kildeer, 2 Semipalmated Plovers, 5 Spotted Spr, 1 Pectoral Spr, 6-8 Semipalmated Spr, and 2 Least Spr.  I also checked several rain pools out in Hilliard, but had only Kildeer.

Hummingbirds - 2 were along the Marble Cliff bikepath, while 4 were along the Clover-Goff bikepath, all females or juvies
Willow Flycatchers - 3 were calling around the bikepath below the Grandview Ave bridge, a very urban location for them
E.Kingbirds - 3-4 were along the Clover-Goff bikepath
Swallows - Barns were the only common swallow of the morning, at all sites.  A feew Rough-wings were along the Clover-Goff.
Vireos - Warblings were along both bikepath, which are narrow or fragmented riparian strips.
Gnatcatchers - 6-8 were along the marble Cliff bikepath; much fewer (2-3) were out at the CLover-Goff
Warblers - singing Yellows were along the open part of the bikepath below Grandview Ave, as well as the Clover-Goff; 2 singing Yellow-throateds were in the larger trees along the path at Marble Cliff.
