A female hummingbird showed up at one of our feeders yesterday with what
appears after closer inspection, a dead bee stuck to her bill. She appears
to be feeding but my wife and I are concerned with her predicament. Can
anyone offer any information or suggestions on how to help her if this
situation is a threat to her health/survival? At first we thought she had
a fungal infection on her upper bill, but after looking at the pics I was
able to take & through the binoculars it looks like a dead bee. She's been
coming to the same feeder regularly this weekend. We placed a small open
dish of sugar water next to the feeder in case she was unable to drink from
the feeder, but she doesn't appear interested or unable to drink from the
feeder. I've posted pics on my Flickr site at the following link:

Please take a look and let me know if there's anything we can do to help
her or just let nature take it's course. Maybe it's nothing to be
concerned about but I'd hate for such a beautiful little bird to suffer if
we can do anything to help her out. Thanks for your replies.
