I spent a few hours hiking & biking this neat corridor in NE COlumbus. After birding around Innis Park, I biked south on the Greenway trail down to Mock Park. Most of the floodplain here is in parks or fields, and the surrounding neighborhoods and businesses accentuate the lush corridor. Much is preserved, but some large parcels are not: the Bridgeview Golf Course (off Agler Rd) has been sold to developers who appear to be surveying for houses. Many birds out this morning, but migrants seemed only a small %. Notables included:

Wild Turkeys - 2 young males strutted across the path south of Agler, confirming feather evidence from last Summer.
Red-tailed Hawks - 3-4 individuals; they're common around the fields here
Flycatchers - 12-14 E.Wood Pewees, which is higher than the usual resident #, probably includes some migrants. Family groups of E.Phoebes are still around most of the footbridges here.

Swallows - Mostly small groups of Barns, with only 1-2 Rough-wings added in.
Vireos - Warblings were still singing at 2 spots. Red-eyed at many locations, with 7-8 total, also above resident #s
Wrens - LOTS of Carolinas and House Wrens, both of which seem to have had a banner breeding year here.
Gnatcatchers - singles at many locations , with perhaps 8 total, probably included many migrants.
Thrushes - a Wood was calling at Innis, a likely early migrant. Small flocks of Robins were at many locations.
Mimids - Mockingbirds were at 2 locations. Gray Catbirds were abundant, especially at Innis Park.
Waxwings - pairs at only 2 spots; the wild berry crop here was spotty and localized.
Warblers - an adult Tennessee at Innis was certainly an early migrant. Common Yellowthroats at a few meadow locations probably were not.

Orioles - 4 Baltimores at different locations were likely migrants. No Orchards were noted today, but there were 3 pairs on territories here back in early Summer.
