I went to Wilderness Road south of Funk Bottoms WA in Wayne Co from
10:30-noon. They have had large pumps running there the past two weeks and
have nearly pumped the two big ponds dry. This has created outstanding and
extensive shorebird habitat. There are also hundreds of dead carp and other
fish from the dried up pools. Though the numbers of shorebirds were not
large, diversity was pretty good. It will pay to keep a close eye on this
excellent habitat.
