There is a cackling goose in with one of the two large flocks of
Canada Geese at LaDue Reservoir. Dick Hoopes spotted it and
pointed it out to me late this afternoon.
Along with other suggestive traits, small feel of bill, shorter neck seen
in flight, and the skinniest pencil legs imaginable on a goose, I was
convinced of the id when I saw it swimming alongside mallards.
This little goose was virtually the same size as the ducks.
