Despite the intense cold, this Westerville MetroPark continues to showcase woodpecker diversity. In a half hour hike around the trails (along with a peek at the feeders at Innis House), I had 24 individuals of 7 species, including 1 Red-headed, 1 Pileated, and 2 sapsuckers. Other birds were present as well, including Brown Creeper, Golden-cr.Kinglets, several small groups of E.Bluebirds, and flocks of White-throated Sparrows. It's an easy stop to shake off cabin fever, and you can retreat inside Innis House to thaw and watch the feeders.
