There has been a great movement of Bonaparte's gulls this morning along the
lake. From my North Perry yard I have counted almost 2,000 birds so far. I
just had an adult black-headed gull pass by. The bird is still in winter
plumage and lacks the dark hood. It like all the Bonaparte's gulls was
heading east. I've also had two adult little gulls amongst the Bonaparte's.

Also of note this morning was Thayer's gull, lesser black-backed gull,
long-tailed duck and white-winged scoter. Lots and lots of songbirds
heading east. Most have been blackbirds but tree swallows, eastern phoebe,
meadowlarks, and longspurs have been counted.
