I was walking the paved bike path south of Gorge Overlook in Bedford
Reservation this morning. I saw a flock of birds about 10 to 20 feet off the
ground in some trees right next to the bike path. I was amazed when I looked
through my binoculars and saw that they were all fox sparrows. There were at
least 8. There could have been more. I took a picture. But, I have yet to
look at it on my computer.

Farther along the path I heard a lot of blue jays. I counted at least 25 in
the treetops. They were mobbing a barred owl. There was a cardinal and some
titmice also bothering the owl. Tough neighborhood!

While driving later on along Canal Road from Alexander Road to Rockside Road
I saw three pied-billed grebes in the Canal. There were also tree swallows
flying low over the Canal almost all the way along the road.
