Quite a show continues at Walborn Reservoir as of 2:45PM Friday. John Cefus just tentatively (exact count is difficult as active as they are) tallied 43 Long-tailed Ducks from the trail behind the marina at Price Rd. Not only is this one of the largest flocks ever recorded in Ohio but the flock is highly active and vocal, exhibiting interaction I have never seen/heard in Ohio before. They are continually taking short flights across the lake babbling to each other and poking, prodding at each other both in flight and on the water. They are in a wide variety of plumage with many in full breeding garb.
Stop by if you can,
Kent Miller
