Visited the area yesterday with Bill Kinkead & Akeena(my puppy). We spent
12 hours there & it was delightful. We had the 20 Breeding Warblers(many
young seen) & other Songbirds. Below is a list of places to go.
King Hollow(off of Rte 278)-go to top of hill-gate(maintenance Rd) walk
1/4 mile-walk up unmowed road to top of hill-Clear Cut. Return to
maintenance Rd-walk < 1/4 mile-Shelter Woods-total walking distance after
exploring these areas-< 2 miles
Baptist Church Rd-Car Birding
woods
meadows
shelter woods
clear cuts
a creek
E Raccoon Rd-along Raccoon Creek-all Birds associated with Water-Car
Birding
These areas have a lot of different Habitats & will give you a great
variety of Birds.
