On Sunday a few of us (my wife, my mother, and my cousin) looked for the Snowy Owl reported just south of Killdeer Plains (we didn't find it, but it was seen on Monday, according to eBird). We went to Killdeer Plains and saw the usual eagles, Rough-legged Hawks, Red-shouldered Hawk, harriers, and a Northern Shrike. While we watched the shrike, it regurgitated a pellet. I was able to get a couple of pictures showing this process: http://blakemathys.com/shrike.html
