I'll be there with the Medina Raptor Center. Stop by and say hello.

The free event in Amish Country is from 8AM to 5PM both days. Representatives from major optics companies will be on hand. Food will be available. Free guided bird tours to hopefully see some of the local rarities will also be available both days. Well known birding icons Kenn and Kim Kaufman, along with local celebrity Greg Miller, will be on hand leading tours and doing book signings. Bird books and other birding related items will be available for sale. While scouting this morning, Thursday, from about 8:30AM to about 11:30AM for the upcoming birding tours, we recorded 58 species. Sought after species found were Barn Owls, Black Vultures, Blue Grosbeak, Lark Sparrow, Summer Tanager, Red-headed Woodpeckers, and Bobolinks, just to name a few. Dickcissels were found at two locations. Two Eurasian Collared-Doves were at their normal location behind the Pizza Shop/Post Office in the town of Kidron, a short drive to the north. Stop by for an hour or the day. Just driving the local roads can be a visually rewarding adventure. There is plenty to see and do in the area. Nearby restaurants and lodging are easily found.
