The Kelp Gull at Springfield Lake was not seen again tonight. Unfortunately it's movements so far are not as predictable as "forage (in the landfills?) during the day, roost on Springfield Lake at night". I believe it's appearances at Springfield Lake have been: Sat PM yes, Sun AM yes, Sun PM no, Mon AM no, Mon PM no, Tues AM yes, Tues PM yes, Wed AM yes, Wed PM no, Thu AM no, Thu PM no.
Clearly not super predictable other than early mornings after it was seen roosting on the lake the night before but clearly no reason to think the bird has left the area. The Patagonia Rest Stop Effect is well in play now with Thayer's, Glaucous, a possible Lesser Black-backed x Herring, and numerous Lesser Black-backed Gulls being found by observers in the last couple days.
