*JANUARY 02, 2017 - CUYAHOGA VALLEY MONTHLY TOWPATH TRAIL CENSUS.*
*HIKE*: Red Lock Trailhead south to Merriman Valley. *TIME*: 7:25am -
4:20pm *TEMP.*: 35~33~46
*COND.*: Overcast with steady, misty rain at start turning to a light mist
falling; then foggy with a very
low ceiling from 9:35am - 12:00pm; then gray & cloudy; then back to foggy
with light mist and temps
slowly climbing. No snow cover. Dover Pond frozen. Ira Beaver Marsh mostly
frozen except for area
near the beaver lodge towards Riverview Rd. along the north side of the
marsh.
*TRAIL COND.*: Frozen & icy, thawing to muddy, wet & sloppy. River erosion
prevention along trail
just before Stanford Swamp still on-going. More dead ash trees removed near
old Jaite paper mill.
*RIVER COND.*: High, swift & muddy.
*FT.MI.*: 13.51 *OBS.*: John Henry & Douglas W. Vogus.

*I. MAMMALS: 4 SPECIES, 4 FIRST OF YEAR, 18 INDIVIDUALS.*
